Hi all,

Was wondering what type of trigger sprayer people use here to apply wire wheel acid (hydroflouric acid based)?

I purchased a few of these Tolco ones, but unless I have a few defective ones, they only seem to work once: (even the standard sprayers would hold up for a few uses)

Model 320CR "The Chemical Resistant Trigger"

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I use the same ones for Wheel Brightener (ABF)... I usually get a month or two out of them.

Tried them all. Not a single sprayer holds up too long.

I`ve used 100`s of these triggers and they will last alot longer if you spray some APC through them after using acid. It will neutralize the acid and won`t kill the trigger. The best, longest lasting sprayer made is the gray one made by Spraymaster. It has a 5 year warranty and I`ve used it for solvents, acids and everything else. If it stops working, send it in for a free replacement. I have one that I have 1 that I`ve been using for tire dressing for the last 10 years!!!

usually the grey triggers are the one`s you want to use since they are labeled as the chemical resistant ones, but eventually will wear out since the harsh chemicals will eventually take it`s toll. the one DavidFermani mentioned, can be found at smart & final in the janitorial section where all the sprayers, sprayheads, trash bags, etc, are. iirc, it was around $6-$7...

edit: just called smart & final and it`s $5.49...

As I rarely use the acid, I spray water through the trigger after each use.

Best thing you can do is, when you done spraying. Turn the bottle upside down and spray the last of it out of the sprayer. This will make them last longer.

I appreciate the repsonse David! There is actually a Dover Saddlery retail store local to me, so maybe they stock these? I will try running some Simple Green through them after use.

These work great but are a tad pricey:
