I have a problem with the tailight on my brothers 2002 Trans Am WS6. Every time I pull it out in the sun there are major swirls. I`ve tried polishing it out but the swirls don`t budge. Can you guys tell me what I could do to remove it. Should I get a heavy filler glaze or what? No pics for the moment but my camera isn`t good and I`m not good with a camera and uploading pics to computer and then posting em so sorry.

Edit: The whole taillight is made of a plastic kind of material.

You might try color sanding it. I have had much success restoring plastic headlights and tailights with 1500, then 3000 grit, followed up with Optimum Compound and then Optimum Polish.

I used G35Stilez guide to doing this as an outline for what I did.

Hope it works out for you.

Sometimes using glass polish and then finishing with plastic polish works. Otherwise wetdaning and polishing should work.
