106FF isn`t the most abrasive polish...are you using the PC. Speed 6 and slow overlapping passes?

Yes, Im using PC. I spread it then use 3 to rub it in and then work it on 5..

You need a more aggressive polish first of all. 106ff is a mild finishing polish. if your looking to remove swirls you need to step up the polishes. What else do you have available to you at the moment??

Also, spreading at speed 3 is fine, but when your working the polish you need to bump it up to 6.

all i have right now is FP, 106ff, and meguairs scratch x. If i get IP, would that take care of it? or SIP?

Well I cant really answer that question without seeing the car but IP or SIP is definitely a step in the right direction.

Technique is also hugely important as well. Slow arm movement, overlapping passes, breaking down the polish correctly, etc, etc....

MB`s are known to have rock hard clear so take your time. You might want to consider smaller 4" pads for your PC as well. They have more bite.

Just keep us posted and we are glad to help!

Thanks everyone. What is the best combo here? FP and 106FF? IP and FP? or IP and 106FF?

Thanks

I would pass on IP in favor of SIP and PowerGloss.

Fazzl, the best combo for what?

You talking about compound/finishing combo??

Well there is OHC/OP, Menz SIP/106ff, SSR2.5/SSR1

Out of the 3 you put up there I would go w/ IP and 106ff.

Best combo would be SIP po83 and 106ff!

A pc is only capable of removing so much, but give SIP a try.

106ff is a super finish polish. Using fp after is useless.

SIP and 106ff on rotary will do 95% of the details. Look at my avatar pic, it is SIP and 106ff done by rotary. No lsp. Had a dull finish with tons of embedded water spots.
