I have a contact that I`ve made that wants me to work on some of his collection. This is an amazing collection! here are some of the cars. If anyone has worked on these cars let me know your process and ideas and I`ll compare them with mine. I`m a bit scared to touch some of these. All of them have a need for paint work. It was interesting to give him a bit on the Bentley GT of 8hrs and 45$/hr he seemed to be stunned by the price. I really want to earn his trust and confidence, how shall I best go about doing this. He swirls on some of these is bad. The bentley has lots of them.

Hmm, must be rough to have a Bentley Continental as your daily driver. I find it funny that someone that has several million dollars wrapped up in their car collection is balking at $45/hour to make them look their best. Good luck with those details. Keep us posted

Is $45/hour comparable to other detailers in your area? He`s a great contact and has a great collection. Was he stunned in a positive way or negative? I can`t seem to tell by your statement, hehe.

He seemed to be stunned in a NEG way like that was a lot to pay /hr. the local wash and detail charges 50$/hr and I have seen that they mainly just fill the swirls, no real correction IMHO.

You could do a promotion for one of his cars at a cheap rate and then go to a more comparable rate once he`s impressed with your services (which I`m sure he will be).

Has he seen your work yet? If so, then stick to your guns and charge your price. If he has not, let him take a look at some of it via photos and let him be the judge of what your skills are. Educate him on the product choices and why you choose them, and you should be able to close the deal.

Are you sure he was stunned because he thought you were too expensive?

It could also be that he’s worried that you’re a hack because you’re charging less than the hacks at the local carwash.

The again, maybe he takes them to Jiffylube for maintenance too.

If he is worried about your price he’s welcome to hand his cars to the minimum wage laborers and let them “work their magic.†Obviously, you need to be extremely diplomatic about reminding him of that.

I need to get a portfolio to take to him, or my mother in laws half done RED SUV that you can clearly see the improvement.

Greg,

I am sure that you have many pics of cars that you have done. Just put them together and email him or bring them to him.

I have done the Enzo, Bentley GT, F40 and scheduling a 599 in a few weeks. Just search through my threads for the process and products. :) The Enzo is a beeee ooo tt ccchhhh, that one took me 19 hours for near concours level detailing. The Veyron though.... yea I havent even seen one in person! LOL :(

My suggestion is do one or two cars at a lower then normal price to show him your work then charge full price for the rest.
