Ok so I`m working on my Saab, and its not like I`ve never polished a car before, actually probably 50+ times. No matter what ive tried, I still end up with micro-marring. Heres what ive tried

Panel 1

-SSR3 LC Wool on PC (yeh i know this is strong, this panel needed it, yet finished down the best?)

-OC on LC Orange on PC6

-OP on LC White on PC5

-Pinnacle AFP on Sonus Blue

Panel 2

-EC/OP on LC yellow

-OP on LC Orange

-Tried a little ZPC, didnt work too well

-1Z Metallic on LC White

Any suggestions?? I have most polishes including the SSR Line, THe Opt Line, Pinnacle twins, ZPC and Zaio, and more i cant think of. I know for a face im letting them break down and not using too much product.

Im puzzled!:wall

I have had the best success when I mix SSR 2.5 with a little OP with a white pad on PC5. It takes some time, but it does finish pretty well.

OP/White/Speed 6 should finish down just fine. I`d keep all the Optimum line @ speed 6 for them to do correctly/break down.

SSR 1/white/speed 6 should finish down nicely too.

What color is the car? Black? :nervous:

Are you using one product/per pad/per use? IE not cross mixing products on a pad? Just asking this for clarification.

Sometimes you have to take a step back and reevaluate

Repainted panels? Here are a couple suggestions:

Optimum via finishing pad @5-6 slow passes until transparent.

ZPC (only about 2 dime size drops needed) via finishing pad @5-6 slow passes until nearly transparent

If you have menzerna:

Menzerna FPII @6 via finishing pad

Hopefully one of those combo`s will be the ticket.

Saab paint can be a pain, especially if it is black or a dark color. I did a black 03 a while back and I ended up finishing off with ZAIO on a white lc pad via pc.

I first used a yellow pad with a polish, maybe presta or zpc.

They are a pain. Do you have 106ff?

This may have been mentioned but what color is the car? I have had nothing but great results with Blackfire SRC Finishing Polish and Menzerna FPII.

my vote for fp2, or even xmt2, i think xmt2 actually takes less work time for finishing.

There are some weird paints which finish up only with a stiff pad (usually orange), and 3M PI-III stuff can be handy for these cases.

Use a very fluffy MF for removal - aided by a QD.

Menzerna finishing polishes and Poli-Seal works well too.

Ok guys thanks for the help so far, going to try PoliSeal aswell as my ZAIO. Bummer, I dont have 106ff yet. Btw, the car is solid black.
