When you detail any car (from a Ford Escort to an S500), what are your preferences product-wise? Do you use mostly "botique" products or pro products? (Auto Magic, Hi-Temp, Pro, etc.) I`m about to restock everything for the summer, and I was wondering which type I should use for each application. For example, use less-expensive professional products for dressings, compounds, polishes, and other "dirty work" and stick to botique stuff for LSPs and delicate surfaces like leather.

Your thoughts?

I would use whatever works. I would never use something on any car that isnt a quality product. I make sure all my products dont cause any problems and that they achieve a high qaulity result. There is nothing wrong with using professional products. I haev some hight temp stuff. I usually use alot of boutique products on my clients cars.

This is where I have to give props to Steve at PoorBoys! All of the products I`ve used from him are excellent, and won`t break the bank! I consider these products easy to find, although I order them from the net. I have also used "pro" products in a higher end detail shop I used to work at. They are great, but I don`t feel that spending the couple hundred bucks extra pays off in the end. I`d encourage you to visit our sponsors on DC and read lots of reviews on the forums!

Good luck! It`s like Christmas when the big boxes come with all the goodies!

I use the best product I can get my hands on--Product is cheap--my free time is valuable--strong chemicals and quaility products--cause for less labor most of the time--and a good looking finished car--will not come back to you if the dressing slings, turns brown--or the windows are streaked--use the best and be the Best-- just my .o2 :headbang

Well guys, I`m going to head out to my PBE store and pick up an Auto Magic catalog. I may also take the plunge and buy a rotary since 90% of my details are hellacious, to say the least. My customers rave about the looks of Natty`s, so I think I`ll restock that. I wish I could afford botique products for every aspect of a detail, but since I need to buy so much, Auto Magic just seems practical. There will always be a "golden shelf" for the garage queens, though. It`s been so long since I ordered online, I can`t wait to shop for the rotary and pads at PAC!

Thanks for your advice guys.
