I want to first thank everyone on this forum as it helped tremendously on my efforts this weekend:

Alright this past Saturday I pulled out my new PC and went to work on the scratches I put in my new car (either by dirt on clay or dirty towel)?

Let me first start off by saying it was a lengthy process but the RESULTS WERE FANTASTIC. I alone spent 2 hrs just on the hood (as it had several noticeable scratches). I really don`t have any before or after (side by side) as I did not properly note what pictures I was taking while doing the job, however I have included some pics of the scratches that I had and then also some of when the car was fully detailed. I can honestly say the scratches are 99% GONE!

Here was my process:

I started least aggressive and used my LC CCS white polishing pad with Menzerna Blackfire scratch resistant polish. I worked in on the scratched area and brought the speed up to about a max of 5 (since this was first time on PC I was a bit nervous moving to max 6 setting). Anyway the scratch improved but was still very noticeable. So I then put on a new white CCS pad and tried the more aggressive Blackfire scratch resistant compound. Getting better but still noticed the scratches. I now decided the only way to get these scratches out was going to need the more aggressive LC CCS orange pad. I used this in conjunction with the Blackfire compound and BAM..scratches were BYE BYE. After several hours of getting accustom to the PC and having a FEW deep scratches that were not 100% removed I decided to move PC to 6 (max power). After several passes with a good amount of pressure the few remaining deeper scratches were gone. I followed this up by using Gary`s paint sealant and the car is now absolutely like wet GLASS. I also used his leather conditioner on the seats and tire cleaner.

All in all the entire process of wash/compound scratches/seal (took about 6 hours). The car is immaculate both inside and out. I just wish I could of taken better pics.

I highly recommend any non professional to get the Porter Cable
