I have a white colored car. Would it be a waste if I polished it?

You kidding me?! White gets little recognition simply because its hardly ever metallic, and depth is nearly non-existant. But you can bring some bling to white, by polishing. Matter of fact, thats the only way to get it looking slippery wet. Another tip is to spend an equal amount if time on trim pieces and chrome. The whole trick with white is contrast. You`d be surprised what you can do with white when you spend some time on anything but paint. Pay attention to wheel wells and tires also.

I have a white Yukon coming up Friday, i`ll be sure to take some pics, as you should!!

I agree with what was already said. I`d add though that you might not want to sweat the swirls, but polishing the paint to a nice clear gloss can definitely be worth it.

+1 to both replies above... polish it, wax it, and pay attention to the little details

Thanks for the tips. I always hear so much about polish and dark colored cars, and not so much about light colored ones.

To me, you can make a white color car or truck look just as good as a dark color car.

My OptiSeal I ordered from you should be in today. I`m going to try it on my white F150. Do you think it will make a difference? I always dress my tires, wheel wells and trim. It does make the white look better. Here are a few pics of my truck. You can see how the chrome and the dressed trim make the paint look so much better. I used AIO, UPP, EX-P and Nattys.

Ya know, white is a pretty unfulfilling color for me to do, but it does look very nice when glossy and wet looking, which does add a bit of depth but nothing compared to a nice burgundy metallic color. I have been slacking on my car since i`ve been so busy doing others, but I plan to put some work in on my car this weekend and get it back up to standard.

I must say that the XMT 360 has sure helped me with white. Deep and reflective with minimal work, depending on the original condition of course.

Any paint is gonna look better without marring. The light will reflect instead of just refracting from all the scratches.

Man, I 2nd that. I used that, and topped with RMG. Then I topped that with P21S. The car looked dripping wet. I love white.

Personally I think White is one of the most stunning colors on a car. BUT it has to be done right.

Here`s a good pic of my `91 Mustang just after polishing and some Zymol Concourse.

I like it :)
