Ultra Bright 15 LEDs Aluminum Flashlight (http://meritline.stores.yahoo.net/15-leds-aluminum-flashlight.html)

Will 15 LED flashlight work to check for swirls?

I don`t have those stand halogen 1000watts lamp and don`t have a place to put it.

So I need some flashlight to check it.

I am wondering if this will work.....or do I need to get the Xenon flashlight?

Swirls are visible from a "single point" source of light, ie: the sun, a street lamp at night etc.

So I don`t think a 15LED light would work well, my halogen is not powerfull and swirls are visible just fine.

If your`e stuck for room why not try a brinkman(think that is the name)

Someone will probably be of more help, :nixweiss

Yea that would produce too many light sources and would probably make it harder to see the swirls. I know it did when I tried it. Just try a single bright light.

Just a regular non led flashlight should work or a halogen is my preference.

If you have a Tuesday Mornings store in your area you can get a Brinkman Dual Xenon for $14.99. At Pepboys they are $29.99.

.....so what is brinkman? The Brinkman uses very small tungsten-xenon incandescent bulbs combined with a pair of very well designed reflectors (looks like a speckled paraboloid, if anyone cares).

Together they give an extremely uniform and reasonably bright spot pattern (and a good approximation to a distant point source).

I called too and they told me the same thing. I went in anyways and they had more than 20 of them. So i bought 3.

So go there anyways, the clerks dont always know what they have.

Yeah i use the brinkman dual xenon for swirl spotting. I use it for a ton of other things too. It`s nice to have around the house.

I`ve noticed that majority of the detailers are using the brinkman dual xenon lights but I had my doubts on it. I think I`ll purhcase one and see for my self.

Just curious anyone seen these lights in Canada?

Try a surefire G2, amazing performance and quality for around $30, you won`t be disappointed.

I`m gonna go ahead and say I disagree. I have a 3 led flashlight I picked up to keep in the car and it is better @ finding swirls than the dual xenon light.

So there, from someone that has used both...
