Hey everyone, here`s my first click & brag. Just got my PC last week, and decided to polish my Accord. Wow, I didn`t know what I was getting myself into, haha. Here`s what I did:

2 bucket wash with deep crystal soap and a sheepskin mitt

clayed with clay magic kit

polished with Hi-Temp Medium Cut on a 6.5" white CCS pad (PC set on 4.5 to 5)

sealed with Mother`s FX SynWax (the liquid...like water, more on that later)

wheels polished with Mother`s Mag & Aluminum polish

tires dressed with Meguiar`s Hot Shine foam

It was cloudy when I started, but cleared up after a little while, so the "before" pictures may not be quite fair. Anyway, here it goes.

Before:

After washing (you can see the swirls better here):

Here`s how much polish I used on 1/2 of my trunk, is this too much? (After a while, I was using 1/2 to 2/3 this much, and ended up switching pads about halfway through)

I`ll try and get an after shot of the hood in full sunlight tomorrow for comparison, if the weather cooperates. After all was said and done, this ended up taking me about 9 hours. Doesn`t seem too bad to me, considering this is the first time I had picked up a DA buffer in my life. As I said before, the synwax was extremely runny, but aside from that, I`m very happy with it so far. I`m thinking I need to either step up to something a little more aggressive, or maybe just spend some more time on it, because there are still some swirls left that seem like they should have came out, given what I used. Only one problem now: I need something to un-stain my black trim (mainly the stuff up on the roof). I`m thinking Back to Black, as I`ve heard good things about it. Please give comments/suggestions/criticism, as I`m new at this, and looking to improve my detailing skills. Thanks for looking!

UPDATE: I got a few more pictures in after I washed the car this morning. Here`s one after picture of the hood (looks worse in reality, but the camera had to play with the exposure due to the brightness of the sun), and one pic of the stained trim on the roof.

awesome...welcome to the old accord club! :)

scottwax had one like ours as well. looks like your trim is in better shape than mine. i`ve only had it for about 6 months, so it`s not my fault it`s beat up. hehe

do you have the rear wheel well rust like all of us too?

Yep, I`ve got the notorious rear quarter panel rust as well. The previous owner fixed it once on the driver`s side and had the panel repainted, but it doesn`t match perfectly (you can tell in one of the pictures I posted). However, the passenger`s side hasn`t been fixed yet (funny how I didn`t post any pics of the passenger side, isn`t it? :chuckle: ), and it`s getting really bad, but as much as I want to fix it, I simply can`t justify putting that much time and effort into a car I`ll most likely only have another year or so. By the way, nice color, I always did like the Bordeaux Red (and Cobalt Blue...and I`m biased toward Rosewood Brown of course :lol )

Oh, and I`ll try and get some pictures of the stained trim tomorrow as well.

Man, good to see the guys with accords coming out. I haven`t been over here in a while and just happened upon this thread. For you guys I would suggest you check out the site cb7tuner (http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/index.php) It`s a great site dedicated to 1990-1993 accords. Plenty of stuff to figure out and learn over there. Plus, I`m sure we`d be more than happy to have someone who cares about their cars as much as you all.

Hey great site Tnwagn. I`m looking forward to a detail this weekend on my `93 hopefully, depending if I get a chance to order some supplies. I`ll be sure to take some nice pictures. Nice cars guys, keep `em coming:) cjv998- you said you had some deeper swirls that were tough to get out, I`ve got ton`s of deep ones, what polish would you recommend?

Nothing will stop the Honda cancer!

And omg I`ve really never seen a 92 accord lookin that good... most of them were daily drivers and beat to ****. I would rock that car today in 2007!
