View Full Version : Hard water spots and leaf blower question

My plan is to use a leaf blower to blow dry the car then finish up with a WW towel to blot dry the remaning water spots.

My question is will the leaf blower just dry away water and leave the minerals on the surface that will cause water spots later? (ie. worse than if I would just use a WW towel in the first place).

My water source is hard and I will use an inline water softener, BTW.

Thanks.

this method works well ...but it is slow

it will push the water not dry it

I would add a QD with the WW

425 is a great choice

Big Jim, what would you recommend? I do sheet rinse it first before drying, BTW.

Also, I don`t mind the extra time and effort with a blower. I just want to reduce towel induced marring.

wash,

sheet rinse,

blow dry,

when you are drying the last little bit of water spay a Quick Detailer

on the car it will give the WW some lube, remove any left over minerals before they dry

and give your car that extra pop

I like Finish Kare`s 425:

Finish Kare FK1 Consumer Detailing Products (http://www.fk1usa.com/products-consumer.htm#425)

So you just spot dry the car with the WW, right? No need to go over the entire car since the blow dry already took care of, say, 90% of it, correct?

Thanks for the tips.

Another word of advice don`t use a gas blower that exhaust thru the blower tube you`ll end up with an oily mess ...
