My wife "lost" the wrench to take my backing plate off my Porter Cable. Does anyone know what size I need, and where I can find a VERY low profile wrench that can slide in and loosen the backing plate? Regular Craftsman wrenches are too think to fit in.

You can use a 15mm wrench... I used a crescent brand one i had in my toolkit and it worked fine... it was just a regular wrench.

I use a craftsman 9/16" wrench with mine, I like that better than the wrench provided. You just gotta make sure that the counter weight is behind the nut when you go to put on/take off the BP, otherwise it won`t fit. I hope that makes sense.

I believe you can buy a replacement one from CMA Classic Motoring Accessories - Car Buffers, Car Waxes, Car Polishes, Car Covers, Car Accessories (http://www.properautocare.com)
