I know that some of you have been here... you`re wet sanding and don`t realize how thin the paint is and the unthinkable happens. You see primer! At first I thought this couldn`t be but as you see... it got even worse when I tried to compound it out. What are my options here guys?! Please don`t tell me I am looking at repainting the whole hood.

A quality...high quality paint shop can repair and blend that hood. We`ve had a few BMW`s re-painted that way and the local painter here does remarkable work. "Tain`t" cheap...but they can make it look OEM

1000 grit followed by 2000. I use that all day long on my Mustang without problems.

shouldnt be any need to use 1000 for defect removal, try and start out at 1500 or finer next time

and yeah a good shop can do a local spot repair
