Hey all,

I have been with Sprint for probably close to 15 years now and my latest contract just ran out and I have been getting the nagging calls from them trying to get me on another 2 year commitment. I don`t want to debate providers here, I have been with Sprint for a long time because I have been happy with them. I am really looking to take advantage of the offers they are throwing my way. The wife and I currently spend almost $90 a month on our two plans and they offered me a shared plan for $59 a month which will save us a bundle. I have been looking at a Blackberry for some time but can`t decide between the two models Sprint offers. I was hoping I could get some input from current Blackberry users.

The 7130e is $119 and the 8703e is $299 but they are offering a $100 mail in rebate.

I had a Blackberry, but found it to be not very user friendly. I`ve since switched to a Treo and have been very happy with it.

IMO, curve 8330 or 8320 if you need WIFI.

If you make it until June the new Bold/9000 is coming out, new OS.

Blackberry is for email, if that is not your first priority I would look elsewhere. Browsing, get an IPhone.

you should check out the January 08` edition of Consumer Reports magazine (best & worst cell phone deals). if you`re happy with Sprint great, but in their cell-phone service/ratings, Sprint was bottom-ranked out of all the carriers they surveyed. the carriers surveyed were Alltel, Verizon, T-Mobile (i made the switch to from Cingular/AT&T and couldn`t be happier, Cingular/AT&T`s claim of the fewest dropped calls is a joke), AT&T, and Sprint. the two top carriers that were neck in neck were Verizon and T-Mobile...

Alltel - one of the better providers in the three metro areas for which we had adequate survey data.

Verizon - among the better carriers this year and in our earlier surveys.

T-Mobile - another solid performer that often offers more for your money.

AT&T - home of the i-phone but trails the better carriers in almost all respects.

sprint - bottom-ranked of carriers we rate.

I`m posting this from my Curve. Apparently a 9000 series is coming out in June. Figures... The curve just came out this month.

You mean the Blackberry Leash as my wife calls it? I have the pearl and I hate the keyboard. We`re getting the Bold (when avail) at when work and i`ll switch that and then switch to the Blackberry touch screen in Q3.

We had goodlink and blackberry running at the same time and I much preferred the Palm Treo over blackberry phones. Oh well....

I will be upgrading to the Blackberry `Thunder` I think they`re calling it now. It`s a touch screen similar to the iPhone. I currently have the 1st gen. Blackjack.

I`ve got the worldphone (8800 I think?). I like it. It`s my first PDA style thing-a-ma-jiggy, but it works fine for me. I thought I would use the browser, but rarely do. mostly e-mail. I first bought the Pearl and returned it after 2 days. Everything was just way too small. I do like the looks of the new Bold. But I`ve got about 18 months left before I can upgrade again. :(

Oh-another reason I got rid of the Pearl - Vaja didn`t make a case for it. Gotta have a Vaja case.

I see you all brought this thread out of the mothballs :) I have since bought a Blackberry 8830 World Phone. I don`t know how I got along without it before!
