Hi Guys

I have an issue in which I have very tiny specs of white "dots" on my hood and bumper.

My question is, is this treatable? Is it overspray or rock chips? How can I tell and how can I treat it? How about a porter cable? I have tried to lift the specs with my nail.

Thanks!

I would definitely try some clay first.

Whoops. Sorry, I forgot to mention, I have tried clay before via the zaino package.

Hm... Did you use the clay properly? Those white specks look like specks that should be able to be removed relatively easily with clay. Did you use lots of lubricant and multiple passes back and forth?

Overspray can be removed with clay since it`s just extra particles stuck to the paint. If it`s a rock chip (which I`m now suspecting it to be... is that the front bumper or rear?), clay naturally won`t remove it. Other than trying with clay (which you have done already), I don`t know of any other way to describe how to differentiate between overspray and rock chips :)

those look like paint chips...just look at them closely...do they dip in or bulge out...

Thats just it, when I run my finger over it I dont feel a dip, but then again they are very tiny specs.

If they were rock chips, wouldn`t they differentiate in size? Unless of course the previous driver was attacked by a swarm of tinny pebbles :)

The clay for sure was used correctly.
