My brother bought an external DVD player/burner off of Ebay. He hooked everything up and everytime he tried to run it, it asks him for a keycode to unlock "power dvd 6". I`m clueless. He`s contacted the seller but he was no help. It`s an LG 18X external multi DVD model number GSA-E30L. I looked all over Limewire but I couldn`t find a keygen and I searched Google and couldn`t find any info on that model. HELP? (I`m not asking for anyone to break the forum rules). You can PM me the info, respond here or shoot me an email at nitrox28@hotmail.com. THANKS!!!!

I`m not sure why you came here to ask that question, considering that`s your first post, but the keycode to power dvd 6 would be included in the cd sleeve that came with the burner. Since he bought it off eBay, the seller may not have included the key.

Where else would I go to ask that question? This is the off topic area right? The seller only sent the CD with the drivers. I`m thinking my brother got ripped.

You are going to have to go to the seller or the manufacturer. This is an off topic area but what you are asking no one here can legally give you. You are going to have to go back to the seller or possibly contact the vendor of the software and see if you have any recourse.

It is a bit strange that you would chose this topic as your first post on a detailing web site??

Well, I think what he meant was coming to Autopia forums. See if you can contact the seller and see if they still have the cd sleeve with the code, or if you can see about getting your money back since you got the short end of the stick here it seems.

Was a copy of PowerDVD included in the auction? If not, you just bought a burner, not the PowerDVD software. Just uninstall it if you don`t like it, or buy another key from Cyberlink if you do.

The fact that PowerDVD is asking for a license key has nothing to do with the player.

If you`re just a casual DVD viewer, just get VLC player available at VideoLAN - Free Software and Open Source video streaming solution for every OS! (http://www.videolan.org) . Open source, free, and just plain works.

good luck.

If you`re looking for software codes go to Serials & keys - unlocks the world (http://www.serials.ws) and type in the software that you`re looking for.

Yea I would have suggested the "other" option but I figured that like most public forums it probably isn`t a good idea to discuss here. I`m sure its been taken care of via PM by others here.

There are free programs out there that work just as well for this. I`d recommend VLC, just as paul34 has already. There`s an install version that works great, and a portable version that is fairly small < 10mb.

Always try open source stuff first, there are plenty of apps that are quite good.
