I found a use for CS

As many on this board may know, I am not a big fan of Zaino CS. I could not tell an optical difference on many of the cars that I have used it on, and the beading was not what I expected after the hype or compared to other things I have used. But I did find a great new use for it. After polishing my clear coated rims on both the H2 and the Volvo this weekend, I said why not. I put one spray on each rim and rubbed in. As usual I could not tell a difference visually. So I went in the black truck to do some shopping and when I came back, the brake dust just blew off. It was very nice.

ya it does work very well on wheels. On some quick jobs after I wash the wheels I z6 them and then do a coat of CS and they look great and glossy. The next wash time it makes it ten times easier to wash.

I love CS on my rubber and plastic trim the best.

Not a knock on CS, because it is easy to use, but I personally didn`t care for it on my wheels. They were new so I used ZAIO and then CS, but they never were as slick as I liked nor as easy to get the brake dust off as I had hoped. Saturday I finally cleaned the wheels again and then applied two coats of Poorboy`s Wheel Sealant. I think they look a little better and they are a lot slicker than with CS on there.



I also thought CS lacked some slickness on the paint as far as bugs on the front end go, so Saturday I also threw some Z-8 on the front end of the car and that did seem to increase the slickness quite a bit over the ZAIO and CS that I had on there. For max protection I probably need to apply about three coats of Z/ZFX and then use CS as a topper with some Z-8 after every other wash.



CS did do a pretty good job on the rubber around my windows, but I`m just not sold on it as a stand-alone topper yet because of the slickness (or lack of) issue, and I wasn`t particularly impressed with the beading either. I had to clay a lot of the lower portion of my van where stuff stuck to the CS that would normally wash off of other toppers. Again, I reapplied more CS and then used some Z-8 to hopefully help with that.

Even though I have used CS on chrome wheels during beta testing, I normally use an AIO type product for wheels or a LSP that did work for "my" paint`s appearance or protection. I too didn`t notice any significant difference in the appearance but I put that off to the chrome being at its end-point for shine prior to application. I too found that it did NOTHING for my paint as far as appearance goes. But the wheels already looked good, since I AIO them (Klasse) and then the CS made the dust just go away. Alteast I can finally use the CS for something that it seems to work on.

I used Prime followed by Zaino Clear Seal on the wheels of this new Super Bee (http://autopia.org/forum/click-brag/84268-super-bee-yea-its-got-hemi.html?highlight=hemi) that I detailed on Jan 20th. The car has the brembo brakes which dust alot. I would compare the dust to what stock BMW pads have.



The owner of the super bee drove it on a 900 mile trip a few weekends ago. He said as usual a Z7 wash gets all the brakedust off. He has 75% of a 5 liter container of PS21 wheel cleaner that is starting to collect alot of dust.

I applied 3x of Z5pro with ZFX to the paint and topped it with ZCS. We finally had some rain here the other day in the Atlanta area. He tells me the beading on the hood is very good.

We have seen tons of pics of the beading from "CS". In my opinion, the beading is from the millions of layers that Zaino users put on of Z5 (me included) and Z2. I found that CS did nothing by itself. Nothing at all. But back to my original topic, it looked great on the wheels.

Wheels look great Bryan. For a porous surface like polished aluminum not to retain dirt demostrates the "sealant" effect of CS. The ability to withstand the abuse wheels endure also speaks highly of CS`s durability.



No way your wife`s vehicle is still beading!!!! ;)

Do you guys think that CS on the Poorboy`s Wheel Sealant will help seal it in w/o a loss of slickness? I guess I ought to try it on one of the wheels and see how it does since the sealant has had time to cure.

I dont think that CS leaves much of a slickness on the wheels. But it did work well to keep them nice and clean and keeps the dust from sticking.

Im with yea, CS doesnt really have a look...and beading wasn`t impressive at all. I`m doing a durability testing for myself right now, and if I like it, I`ll use it as a final topper on other stuff.
