Good afternoon!

My wife`s girlfriend was in town so I decided to detail her car this morning after I finished my wife`s SUV. Why not right?

The XC90 has only been washed at carwashes since new, but surprisingly no swirls! Gotta love that silver metallic paint. There was quite a bit of hardened tar on the lower half of the vehicle, so some claying was needed there. Frankly, the entire SUV needed claying but I didn`t want to spend that much time on it.

1) Wash w/ Megs Gold Class

2) Clayed lower half of XC90 w/ Zaino Z16

3) Dried w/ Absorber

4) Waxed w/ Natty`s Blue on Megs Foam Applicator

5) Leather cleaned w/ Woollite (cut 1:1)

6) Armor All Gel on the Tires

7) All carpets cleaned w/ Folex (not cut)

My favorite product today was Poorboys Natural Look. I love this stuff. The XC90 has a lot of plastic on the exterior and the Natural Look really brought back the factory look. Great stuff and non-oily!

Sorry, no befores. Just afters!

Nice job, I bet her friend was happy. Did she think you were crazy for wanting to detail her car?

I have the same type of paint. I gurantee there are plenty of swirls it just takes perfect lighting to see them. Just because you can`t see them doesn`t mean there aren`t any swirls.

Turned out really nice. :)

Excellent job on that PITA black trim too, worst part of detailing those Volvos. ;)

You clayed with a tire dressing as lube?

Brandon1: all of my wife`s girlfriends are aware of my obsession. They know that if their car is in the driveway, there is a good chance they`ll be leaving with it fully detailed!

BMW: I agree with you, there probably are a ridiculous amount of swirls. But because this was a free detail, I wasn`t about to polish the whole thing. And besides, I don`t think she would have known the difference whatsoever!

Scott: I personally don`t like all that plastic trim, but yes, even when washed it still dries dirty. That PB NL really helped out!

Bioman: Yes, I clayed with tire dressing as lube. Works great! Dries to a beautiful shine...

I totally agree. My wife has one. I keep telling myself that there`s less to worry about paint correction. Especially the lower back breaking panels. :buffing:

Nice work on the XC-90! I like the look of PB NL, but how much durability have you experience on the exterior. I use 1Z Tiefenpfleger and get about 3-4 weeks of durability. It also darkens the plastic and non-oily. If NL can last 3-4 weeks, I may have to switch as NL is cheaper than Tiefenpfleger.

Hmm..first time I heard of this. I`m guessing this only works on plastic trim. Or can this be used on paint too?

Haha, sorry Bioman, I was being a smart-***. I mis-typed, I meant to write I used Z18 to clay the lower body panels...
