I was looking at getting some Collinite and I thought the Insulator wax was the cat`s ***, but then on their site I saw the Super Doublecoat, which they are describing as a "permanent wax". Which one will seal the best and give the best shine over Menzerna polishes?

The Insulator Wax is the product that brought Collinite their fame ;)

I put 476 on my daily driver back in November and have been exceptionally pleased with it. The pics in this thread, below, is @ 3months of pretty harsh winter and driving about 130 miles per day. Held up real well. Gave the paint a very deep, glossy look.

476S or 845. Can`t go wrong with either. I use 476s though.

476 is one of the most durable waxes on the market and leaves great paint protection. 845 isn`t too far behind. I remember the first time I used 476s, I nearly had to take a hammer and chisel to remove the stuff! It leaves a nice shine too, IMO.

If you`re looking for just the best shine between 845 and 476, I`d go with 845. If you want a bit better protection and durability, choose 476.

I haven`t tried 476, but I have 845 and it is my all around favorite wax. Lasts 4-6 months without QD or booster waxes(at least in my experience), and leaves a really wet shine that looks awesome on light metallics.

They are both excellent products. I use both on a regular basis.

I`ll go against the grain and say that in my experience 476S is the better looking of the two. On both of my cars (which are both shades of gray), it just has a better look.

The first time I tried 476S, I applied by hand and put it on way too thick. It was quite a workout getting it off. I now apply via PC, very thin, and it is actually very easy to work with.

845 is a great product. It is so easy to apply and just seems to spread for ever. You`ll be suprised by how little you actually use. Removal is just as easy.

Both product are very tough, and will last for months. IMO, you can`t go wrong with either one.

I too use both and IMO the appearance differences aren`t all *that* significant, at least not after a few washes. Overall, I prefer th 476S paste wax.

I use 915 and it`s excellent. Great for darker cars.

No Collinite will ever compare to a Matrix Micro Coating. I guarantee that. We actually cure our product with infrared lights. Makes varnish very scratch resistant, and a deeper gloss than ANY wax.

Can it go over things like UPP?

476S is basically 845 Insulator Wax from what I understand and have seen.
