I want to try Zaino, but am confused with their selections you can choose from.

What does a guy need to buy? I`m used to a 3-step method using:

1)paint cleaner

2)paint polish

3)apply wax

Can someone show me the products I should consider and why, thanks!

That sounds like a Meguiar`s process, in which the "polish" step is actually a glaze. The Zaino process most equivalent would be Z-AIO, followed by Z-5. You could leave it there, or top with CS. If you have any defects that need to be polished out, you could use Z-PC, or any other abrasive polish if you follow it with Z-AIO to remove any oils remaining from the polish step.

:werd:

Either Z2pro for lighter colors or Z5pro for dark colors.

ZAIO works very well by hand.

As with all zaino products, apply very thin. :2thumbs:

You need to buy most of the products and use them all. Zaino is designed as an entire system, not a selection of stand alone products. For best results you should follow the advice on Zaino`s website.

Z-PC (paint polish)

Z-AIO (base for sealants)

Z5Pro or Z2Pro (sealants)

Z-CS (spray sealant)

Maintain with Z-7 (shampoo) and Z-8 (spray sealant) :dance

Welcome to Autopia. :wavey

Use your favorite polish that you are familiar with to repair defects. If you do not have a favorite, you can get Zaino PC Fusion and vary your pad selection for different degrees of surface marring.

ZAIO to final cleanse finish and remove any lube oils if using a polish besides Z-PC and Menzerna. ZAIO can also be used as the initial polish for a well maintain like new finish. ZAIO will lay down a base for Zaino sealant bonding, lay down initial protection and a final hi-lighted gloss, depth and wetness.

Z2PRO - lighter colors, Z5PRO - darker colors and some very minor swirl filling or Clear-Seal for apply and walk away option as final protective coat.

Z6 (QD) or Z8 (spray sealant applied like a QD)- Both hi-lite finish. . Both are excellent options for post-wash protection augmentation and appearance enhancing. Z8 more so.

Z7 shampoo is optional but highly recommended.

Hope this helps.

I used on a blue Porsche today

Z5 Pro with the cyclo

Zaio by hand

CS

Is this the correct combo?

Optimum polish was used for the major correcting.

Ron, You want to swap around your first 2 steps and you`ll be good to go:xyxthumbs

ZAIO with the cyclo then Z5Pro by hand.

ZAIO will chemically clean & protect your paint. If you applied it over Z5-Pro (a sealer), then you cleaned it off the paint.

Ok thanks.

I thought that because it`s called polish it was like a FP with protection.

Is it really a must to do the Z6 wipedown in between layers of Z2/Z5 (ZFXed)? Mike...

No it is not a must.

Oh, what a simple process! :D

Almost as simple as your responses and as minimal as the value of your input.

Strokin04,

Z6 is completely optional IMHO. With the present formulations of Z2 or Z5 layering is completely optional. ZAIO/Z2 or Z5/ CS will yield a exceptional appearance and offer benchmark durability.

As you will discover additional steps are extremely fun and gives one something to do if you enjoy pampering your vehicle. All steps go on easy and buff off effortlessly except CS which does it own buffing. ;)
