wasnt there a rumor that optimum was coming out of a really good water spot remover? What ever happened to that stuff?



on the same note, has anyone had good success with CLR on water spotted paint? I am thinking about trying it out, but I cant bring myself to do it without stories of it working...I would rather use that as a soap and remove the water spots, then immediately rinse each section as I go with a regular car wash, then rinse again...instead of polishing for hours at a time...

I`ve had good success with PRO`s C-30 Water Spot Remover. I think the instructions say it`s for glass & chrome, but I`ve used it on paint several times with good results. Just be sure to not let it dry on the paint, and immediately rinse with a quality shampoo.

Have you tried the DG water spot remover? Same results..Just spray on and wipe off.

I have terrible water spots on my boat. Extremely hard to get off. Any advise ???

The Duragloss water spot remover is pretty good, but only on fresh surface spots, i.e. will do nothing for etched in or really hard spotting. I believe the base ingredient in the DG product is vinegar, and distilled vinegar will work just as well actually on light spotting.

You guys talking about water spot only right? What about water etching? I have this poor BMW with tons of H2O etching all over the roof. What`s best way to remove those etching? I already tried wool pad w/M.PG and still didnt budge.

I`ve always had great results w/Hi-Temp HCL (Heavy Cut Leveler) and didn`t need a wool pad.

For water etching, I use a brief spray down with DG water spot remover, wipe off. Then use a cutting pad and some Klasse AIO and it seems to have worked well in the past.

The DG water spot remover has worked well for me..it works great on fresh spots and spots not etched in yet...and will not harm the finish doing it...just spray let sit a bitand wipe off...spots gone...

yeah i meant to say etching....what about etching...just polish away? seemed to be what I had to do to remove them from a super duty...the hood was another story....I would have had to compound for a while - pretty bad! so I told him to get it perfect would mean wetsanding, he said no....
