What is the logic of using an AIO product before using a separate sealant? Wouldn`t it make more sense to use a real polish like FPII or optimum and then use the sealant? I`ve been reading about the ZAIO and Z-CS combination, and trying to decide whether to substitute a polish for the ZAIO but I`ve got no thought process. Thanks.

I use FPII before I use Klasse AIO. Then top it off with some FMJ or something else.

yes use a "real polish" first to remove defects

then think of AIO as a great chemical cleaner to prep the surface for your sealant

Bingo .... agree 100%. I also find my sealants seem to go on easier and last longer with AIO as a "base".

I would think this is the case due to the fact that AIO also adds protection.

The logic is really in using a cleaner before using a separate sealant. If the paint doesn`t need to be polished, it`s still a good idea to use a pre-LSP cleaner to make sure the surface is "primed" for best LSP adhesion. An AIO can give you some flexibility time-wise (if for some reason you can`t finish in that session), or can be left alone without following it with anything, or can make a good base for a compatible LSP (without having to "stock" a separate cleaner).

So if I wanted to apply PW as LSP could I still use 215 or not even consider 215 and use a polish?( I still have some of the Griots polish) How about polish then 215 then PW? I assume I could use 215, 2180 + 1000P since they are all synthetic

Thanks a lot, guys. I can think it through now. I can usually answer my questions by lurking around, but when I can`t, people on this forum come through. It`s a good forum.

you could use your polish for swirl removal then 215,2180,1000p,pw

and you can do it all one after another fk`s products can all cure together

Actually its a chemical reaction. Any sealant will bond two times better to an acrylic (AIO) base than a polished base.
