View Full Version : Does Z-PC need a finishing polish? Or is it one?

Hey guys, I`m a bit curious as to where Z-PC stands. Can I use it as a stand alone polish, using it as a light compound and finishing polish? Or should I use Sonus SFX2 before hitting the car with ZPC?

ZPC will finish out very nice. With a rotary and depending on pad choice it will also do some defect removal.

Here is a Porsche twin turbo that finished out very nice with ZPC/white LC pad/PC6. No LSP applied at this point:

Hey Dan

Zpc is a very nice finish polish. It will restore gloss and remove some defects while leaving a clear smooth glass like surface ready for Z5 or Z2. ZPC is one of my favorite finish polish and is very easy to use with no mess. I have been using it more than 106ff lately!

On heavy jobs after I compound with a rotory, I use ZPC with a pc and LC white pad and it will take out every wool buffer trail mark and leave an absolute flawless finish ready for z5. Look at my avatar!

So ZPC on white after SFX2 on orange is a good combo?

Z-PC has become my final finish if my next step is Z-AIO or Z-2P or Z-5P.

Still prefer Menzerna PO85RD or FP II on all others.

Ok, I have a question. So what color pad do you use for ZAIO? White?

Thanks! So how long do you need to run the PC on a section you`re working on before you buff it completly off? When you do buff, you use a bonnet of MF by hand? Thanks again!

I run it till its clear by PC at speed 6. I always remove everything by hand.

With a PC it all depends on the hardness of the clear you are working on. On the above Porsche I did, ZPC with a white pad is all I used to get the car 90% defect free.

On something with a hard clear like a vette, its not going to remove any serious defects.

Not to threadjack, but how about Z-AIO on a finishing pad?

From what I hear, its a bit stronger then kAIO. So it`ll do a little bit of cutting. I saw Ryan`s detail where he used a wool pad with Z-AIO and it looked damn smooth.
