Hey guys, curious if this line up is kosher:

Sonus SFX 2 (White/Orange w/PC)

Sonus SFX 3 (White w/PC)

Z5pro (with or with out ZFX)

Thanks :)

I would think that you need to do a 50/50 wipedown after the Sonus polish before Z5pro.

I would think that you need to do a 50/50 wipedown after the Sonus polish before Z5pro.It certainly wouldn`t hurt, but the Sonus polishes are "filler free", and don`t seem to leave enough residue to cause any problems. I`ve used Sonus followed by Zaino a number of times, never a wipedown, never any obvious problems (smearing of the Z layer, etc.).

You only need to use ZFX`d Z5 when applying multiple coats. I usually do at least two coats to ensure 100% coverage.

I`ve done combo before (with the Z6 wipedown). Turned out great.

Z6 wipe down before applying the Z5pro for the first time?

Just to clarify, the "wipedown" gmblack3a and I mentioned is a wipedown with isopropyl alcohol to remove and residual polishing oils. Some sealants are picky about having bare paint so they`ll bond to the surface properly, so wiping down with alcohol or some kind of prep-solvent after you polish may be wise (depending on the polish you use).

Would Menzerna FPII be a better idea then sonus SFX 3?

Either polish will work. I prefer at least a Z6 wipedown when using non-Zaino polishes.

You must use ZFX or Z1 for the initial layer even if you are just applying 1 coat of Z5PRO for maximal bonding.

Exception being ZAIO or CS as base.
