DP 4 and 1 w/ shmitts and Pinnacle Crystal Mist Review

After attending the Detail Fest this past weekend I was really eager to try some of my new products. One of my weekly customers has a Metallic Green Lincoln towncar that’s never really too dirty. She only wants me to wash the exterior, wipe door jambs, and dress tires, but me being just like most detailers want to always do more. Today when I got home from DF I called her to see if she still wanted her car done with the bad weather we were expecting. She said her car was really filthy and that she wanted it done rain or shine. Once I arrived at her house and looked at the car I decided to enlist my DP 4 and 1 rinse less wash for the job. I’ve used ONR for a couple weeks, but I wanted to give DP a shot. I had heard it leaves a slicker finish on the car. Here is a pic of the products I decided to use for this job.

I use the two bucket method w/ a grit guard in the rinse bucket. I really like the shmitts for both traditional washes and rinse less washes. I just got the sprayer you see from our local hardware store. It works great for making a rinseless QD solution. The Pinnacle Crystal Mist used was one of the many things given to each registered attendant of DF. I used the brush for rims and wells. The guzzler as most of you know is in my opinion the best drying aid of the market. I used the smaller MF for applying and removing the Pinnacle Crystal Mist. The bug scrubber was used just for it’s intended purpose, and it did well. I’ve tried many different tire dressings, but my favorite is still Meg All Season. I use an older MF mitt to apply it. I plan on doing another post my tire dressing application method soon. Stay posted! LOL

I usually do the tires and wheels first, but I decided to the painted parts first just for a change. I started and the top and worked my way down and around the entire vehicle. I was able to do more than one section at a time because it wasn’t too hot or sunny. I used the white shmitt on the body of the car and dried w/ the Guzzler. I used the yellow side on the windshield and rear view mirrors. I used the black shmitt on the lower panels to help w/ the dirty areas.

Since this was my only car for the day w/ bad weather coming I decided give her car some extra attention. I’ve been using my 4 and 1 QD solution w/ MF to clean interior windows. If it can clean the outside so easily I figured interior windows would be a breeze. I use to MF to do the windows. One dampened w/ the solution and one dry. I wipe the window w/ the damp one then follow it up w/ a dry one. It works great and leaves absolutely no streaks.

Hopefully you can see the left side hasn’t been cleaned yet.

In conclusion, I think all the products worked well as I expected, but the Pinnacle Crystal Mist was phenomenal. It left a very slick surface and helped to bring on the flake in the paint job. I will defiantly have to ordered some more soon. This is my first review so be gentle if it’s not perfect. I hope to do a lot more in the near future once I’m done being a school teacher and have some more time (this post took over an hour to complete).
