Your Top 3 Favorite Polishes to use after...

I`m buying a 32oz Optimum Compound for use with a 7424 and orange 5.5" low pro LC pads. I also have SSR 2.5 for major swirl correction.



My question is what are the best follow-up polishes to use before your LSP? I have PB`s SSR1 and PwC, do I REALLY need OP?



Just posting your 3 or so favs to "clean up" the surface after the compound/heavy polish will be helpful to me. Thanks.

Blackfire SRC Finishing Polish is my favorite.



FPII is a *very* close second.



OP is third, but I mainly use it as a one-step polish, and not to remove compound haze.

So OC and a orage LC pad will most likely haze? Would the SSR1 remove that with a white pad?

I just want to jump in on this thread.



I have OC and the XMT line.



I really like using OC and a yellow pad on the really tough areas. However, I get major hazing and micromarring with OC and yellow pad.



I`ve used XMT1 and XMT2 on the Edge orange pad(finishing pad). Even when using XMT2 on an orange finishing pad the micromarring is very hard to get out. I`ve only used it on my white Mustang, so maybe it`s the car? I didn`t have a problem taking out the swirls and scratches though.

Pretty much any compound on a light cutting pad will haze/micromar the paint to some degree. I have no experience with SSR1 so I don`t know how it does with compounding haze.

You can use OP with a polishing pad and then a finishing pad, so it can be your light swirl/haze remover and your final polish.



OC and a cutting pad will leave some hazing on softer paints, minimal to none on hard paint.



SSR1 and PwC are really more paint cleaners (especially PwC) than defect removers. I don`t know for sure if either can remove compounding haze or not. Poli-Seal and a polishing pad will remove compounding haze, so that is another option.

SSR1 seems to have some grit to it, I`d think it would remove any hazing no problem. Well, that`s what I`m going to use it for, I`ve already spent enough money for now until this business gets up and running, so for now, just the OC, 2.5, 1, and PwC will have to be the "polishes."
