i just got new meguiars pads going to use them saturday with a pc7424. how should i prepare the pad spraying quick detailer or distilled water?

QD one spray, put the polish on and have at it.....

You`ll find an advantage spritzing (or seasoning pads) when using polishes that dust, or dry/haze before your done breaking them down....Other polishes such as Optimum or Four Star Body Shop for example, may not require that spritz.....

83 more so then 80 for sure.....
