Can you guys recommend a really good brand of clay for use on old paint?

Also, if you are polishing a vehicle for the first time to remove swirls and oxidation, it is not necessary to use clay. Is this correct.

Is this correct......Just try to find some blue Clay Magic (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/awc-88256.html) locally, that would be your cheapest option and it is a pretty versatile clay. Actually some of the best clay isn`t available anymore because of some lawsuits, but Autopia still has some in stock, but it is a bit pricey:

Actually you should clay before you polish so you pull the contaminants off of the paint first. The theory is it`s better to pull them off with clay instead of shearing them off with a pad and polish. There are some differing viewpoints on the subject, but that is what has always worked best for me.

When you say old paint, you aren`t talking about your truck are you?

John, yes I`m talking about the truck, it`s a 1999.

I`ll check out the Clay Magic, I think WM and Auto Zone carry it.

Good luck with the lottery tickets, and I`m sorry about the other thing! :up
