Hi all, it`s been a while since I have had time to post anything. I recently quit my 9-5 and started detailing full time. I am renting space from a large accessorie and performance shop in town. So far, business has been more than I can keep up with--hopefully it stays that way.

Detailing full time is certainly different from just doing a few on the weekends. IMO, if you are going to get into this business, you better have a passion for it. :D So far, so good......

Both of these cars came in for mods (headers, cam, exhaust, etc) and both owners ended wanting details. These cars have less than 2500 miles on them--one of them was stuill in drive-outs.

The clear was *very* soft. I was able to correct both finiohses with HT HC with an orange 5.5" low-profile pad via PC, followed by BF SRC FP via PC and a white 5.5" low-profile pad via PC. Both were applied with medium pressure @ speed 6.

First one was sealed with OCW, second with #21.

Both sets of tires wear HD 1:1

The car was essentially covered in marks like this. Yep, brand new, still in drive outs!

After about 8 hours of polishing:

Next one—this was very swirled, but not as bad as the previous one. It took about 9 hours to complete this detail, but part of that was jacking the car up to seal the barrels of the wheels.

Good to see you posting Joe! Glad to hear its going well.

I have never done a CTS-V, thanks for the info on the soft clear.

Most would think that the 2nd one was pretty bad, but the first one takes the cake for sure. :nervous2:

Great work! :buffing:

Amazing (well maybe not) that those cars were so swirled with low miles...nice recovery! I didn`t realize the CTS-V`s had six lug wheels...I don`t think I`ve ever seen more than 5 except on a truck :nixweiss

Yes, it`s a matter of stronger hubs for a car that`s put to more extreme use--same ones used on the SRX crossover. It`s an interesting use, and one that makes aftermarket wheel choices more limited for people who go that route.

Love those cars - one of my favorites on the road today. Nice work.

Both are totally dripping. Quick question though...what is "PCW"?

ebpcivicsi- Glad to hear the full-time detailing and your affiliation with that shop are working out so well!

Interesting that the Cadillacs have such soft clear.

Is the BF SRC FP your go-to final polish these days? I haven`t tried mine yet...any tips for working with it?

I absolutely *love* CTS-Vs. I want one soooo bad.

You certainly did them both justice!
