hi all im looking for a wax to replace my p21s as i dont find it very durable ??

i have a metallic blue vw passat and the things im loking for are....

ease of use

real good depth to finish/popping paint

good durability

good value for money

im living in cyprus at the moment and my biggest problem is the car is exposed to a lot of sun and a lot of dust .(my suzuki jeep has got really bad marks on the roof where the laccuer has gone, due to the sun)As such because of the dust and the fact that the car drys reall quickly before ive finished drying it down, leaving a lot of water marks i dont really want to wash it that often.

im looking at keeping my car and bringing it back to the uk with me so i need to protect the paint as much as possible.

which would be the best wax for me

50/50

collinite

nattys blue

or anything else you might know of??

forgot to add that it will go on top of ex-p

thanks

steve

collinite 476S is probably the most durable.

I`d probably agree w/ David. Go w/ some collinite.

Question, are you buffing off the PS21 before it is dry? Some people have been mentioning that if you apply it really thin and let it dry it seems to last longer. I`d recommend Collinite 845. I think 476 looks a bit flat, 845 has way more gloss/pop.

collinite 476 or 845

You can also just use a spray wax like Eagle One Nanowax Spray or Duragloss Aquawax. I have a sapphire blue metallic car and use a Klasse base. EO gives more of a carnauba look and is great at hiding swirls. Aquawax is more for gloss, no swirl hiding and it doesn`t change the color of the car. Both are quite durable and very easy to use and cheap. I like them much better than S100 on my car.

I`ll second the FK 1000P recommendation! I love that stuff. I`ve got Collinite 476s and 845IW, and while I like the appearance of both those I much prefer the look of 1000P. I`ve got about 4 coats of it on my Subaru for the winter time, its holding up like a champ going on 4 months now. FK`s Pink Wax is no slouch either, 3 coats of that is protecting my brothers car this winter.

Have you also used P21s/S100? I was wondering if 1000P was as bright and reflective as S100.

I`ve got a tub of S100, unfortunately I haven`t used it on more than one test fender yet. I`m afraid I wouldn`t be able to comment intelligently on the comparison.

If UV protection is important, as well as a nice look, Optimum Spay Wax would work well.

Renton, if the sun and dust/sand are so bad that the paint is starting to fail, I wouldn`t use a wax!

What you need is a synthetic like KLASSE AIO to clean the paint and then 2 or 3 coats of Klasse SG. This will give you a heck of a lot more protection than any wax, especially under the extreme conditions you describe.

Foe aesthetic reasons you could top the Klasse twins above with a wax but under those conditions it wouldn`t probably last long. If you do want a wax topper over the KLASSE Collinite mentioned above would probably be the best choice for most protection and longevity.

FK1 1000P or Collinite 476/885.
