hi all

used my pc for the first time today on my passat and its true what they say about vw paint !!!! i had nothing that would touch the swirls and marks on the paint.

i used ....

prima swirl (meant to be a good swirl remover... did nothing!)

sonus sfx 3 final finish (made the car shine but did little else)

also once id finished i could see the difference betwwen my previous hand polishing attempts and the pc work , but the paint still had no depth to it???

whats a good combo to use on vw paint then ??

i know dave kg mentioned some menzerna stuff but is there anything else that i could use aswell?

paint is inky metallic blue btw

Search around. Highly regarded polishes include Menzerna, Optimum, and Meguiars.

don`t forget poorboy`s ssr`s

they dust a little but work great!

I would start with 2.5 ssr then one of the finishing polishes that you have

good luck

get a rotary, a wool pad and some serious compound and teach that thing a lesson!

I hope so too........

I have never had any problem with VW paint. All i use is a PC and i have never met paint i couldnt correct flawlessly with it.

Since you useing a PC and the fact it is so gentle you just need a heavier cut polish and a heavier cutting pad. Look into polishes like meguiars pro-line, automagic, optimum or menzerna.

I had a run in with some VW paint just the other day.

It had some badass swirls from a unexperienced person using a high speed buffer to put wax on and neglect from 8 years of only being waxed once.

here is the result. ImageShack - Hosting :: vw41qw.jpg (http://img161.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vw41qw.jpg)

I used

Swirl Remover 2.0

Deep Crystal Polish

Hi-Tech Yellow #26
