hi everyone, this is my first post. I just bought a new 2007 jeep sahara and I need to ask if anyone knows any products that can be use on the hardtop. Maybe someone with a jeep with a hardtop could tell me what they use. Also the top is black. thanks for any advice

303 Aerospace Protectant would be a good product.

I have used Zymol Carbon on my jeep hardtops. It doesn`t stain trim and doesn`t make the top look shiney. I`d guess you could use any wax that doesn`t stain trim. It seemed to really work as the top didn`t get chalky like every other jeep. While I love 303, I just personally wouldn`t like using it on the hardtop, after all its painted.

It`s painted? The ones I have seen are all just hard plastic. If it is painted I recommend treating it like the rest of your painted surfaces. If hard plastic I still recommend 303.

The ones I owned were satin (not quite matte, although they get that way fast!) painted fiberglass.

My brown hard top is single stage paint. MAke sure you put on some type of sealant or wax on it.... the results may look like this in a little time:

(paint being cleaned with Poorboys polish with sealant)

I never really worried about the outside of my hardtop but the inside turned a dingy yellow color so I had a friend spray it with a spray in bedliner.

Me neither until I did the above... IMO it is worth putting something on it to protect it. I have seen my share of black hard tops that got oxidized and chalky. I learned the hard way that if you don`t protect it, it`ll end up in the condition that I had to deal with above.

I`ll have to try that on mine when I get some decent weather up here. The last decent weekend I got I spent it cleaning sand out of the interior from my two recent trips to dunes. And painting my faded out flares.
