Sometimes after I have cleaned my rear glass/hatch area with windex, I will see a repeating diamond pattern across the entire area. I also saw someone on the highway the other day with the same thing (and clean windows too). Anybody else had that or know what it is?

I`d ditch the Windex. Go to Target or WalMart and grab some Stoners Invisible Glass. That should fix you up.

You didn`t happen to be wearing sunglasses, did you?

Cause some sunglasses have a depth perception inhancing glass or something like that and it makes some glass or plastic surfaces look like they are diamon like or full of differen colors.

I dunno, maybe I am way in left field on this one, but my sunglasses do it.

If you own Maui Jim sunglasses, they definitely do. They are polarized, and have a really strange effect on glass when looking at windshields, windows, etc.

Usually thats how some glass appears when viewed with polarized lenses.

Like others have guessed, I`m going to say polarized lenses too, especially since you`re seeing it on other cars, not just yours.

What you are seeing is the plastic sheet between the glass layers, quite common and nothing to worry about. Like others said, it`s usually most visible through polarized lenses.

It has to do with the layers of glass, plastic, and glue in the safety glass.

Thanks for the replies guys. No glasses-but maybe the way the sun shines at certain angles/time of day. Thanks for the knowledge.
