This is a client that has 6 cars I do + a boat. He just got his `68 Firebird back from a family member who does paint. Terrible orange peel all over the rear deck. It took almost a year to get it back the first time so the last thing he wanted to do was bring it back to him to fix it. So I took a shot at fixing it and it came out about 95%

Came really nice please post the before pics, I have been doing a lot of research on wetsanding lately.

My question to you is why did you go up in grits and is there a specific name brand that you choose.

2000grit is a finer paper, which Im sure you know. The fine scratches made by 2000 grit are easier to polish out. I can use a milder compound after sanding that way and get a more polish ready finish. Then a good LSP and your set.

How does the Megs NXT/FK PW 50/50 combo work for you? What made you choose this combo? Thanks.

Funny you ask. I had 3 sample pouches of NXT along with a couple ounces left over in a bottle, and I had a sample tin of PW from FK that I wasn`t using so I melted it down and poured it in with the NXT just for fun. It`s all gone now, but I actually really liked it. Very very easy to spread and remove and left a great looking finish. Don`t know about durability yet, but with those two products I`m sure it`s fine.

Thanks for the compliment. I guess he even tried to get the car back after about 6 months of nothing happening on it, but the family member was all crying about how he needed the money and "how could you..." crap. What are ya` gonna do?
