What is the highest gloss polish for use before applying 845...In other words, what is the most "compatible" polish...Thanks.

Menzerna...

Cool. What about Zaino? By the way, this will be done by hand. I just don`t have $200 lying around for a PC!

Zaino isn`t a polish, unless you`re speaking about ZPC.

Menzerna PO106FF and Menzeran Final Polish are the wettest polishes I`ve used yet...

You might want to look into Blackfire too...

Well, I am considering "polishes" that aren`t abrasive as well. Things like Z5 pro, Z2..etc..Not only the abrasive stuff.

Z2/Z5 are not polishes, they are sealants.

Autoglym Super Resin Polish is mild, really wets the paint. Used it on a Red Silverado pickup..

You could see the truck coming down the road a mile away. The color is called Victory Red, I think.

what color is your chariot?

Titanium silver...I was wondering if 845 is even a good wax for it. I see a lot of 335i`s using Z5 as a sealant ( I always thought it was a polish).

get a polishing pal, used by hand, comes with 4" pc pads... it`s worth it....

sometimes i don`t feel like breaking out the PC. I`ll just toss a layer on the hood, top, and trunk,( the areas of most exposure...) no need to break out all the artillery for that.

Wolfgang Polishin’ Pal is an ergonomically shaped urethane handle that holds specially designed foam pads using hooks & loops. (http://www.autogeek.net/polishing-pal.html)

you want looks? or durability? both? I wax 2-4 times a month, so 845 is overkill for me.

S100, is a piece of cake to use. Honestly, if you use a good polish, anything will look nice.

At the moment I have layers of layers of about 4 different products on mine..lol

I don`t care as much about durability, so I definetly want looks.

How does this sound

Wash

Clay

Menzerna 106 FF

It will always be a compromise. If you don`t want to use abrasive polishes, yet you still want to hide your minor swirls, you have to use a filling product. Good fillers (glazes - containing oils, concealers) are somewhat unstable and you`ll be unable to establish a stable, durable foundation upon them. Ergo: no point in using the Zainos because they`ll fail sooner than usual (because of the prep-compromise - causing incompatibility/bonding issues).

845 is far more forgiving in this context, but if you truly want a swirl free car - and not a swirl free LOOKING car, you simply have to remove them. This will be a very exhausting process by hand - or invest into a DA polisher.

If durability is your main goal, don`t use glazes. If optics you are looking for, use a glaze to hide your minor (!) imperfections, but prepare to do the whole process more frequently.
