Do you guys find that putting multiple layers of AW helps prolong the durability? If so, is it significantly more durable? I`ve also heard that multiple layers of AW sometimes mutes the wet look of the paint. Is this true?

multiple layers will be more durable.

Don`t know about muting but if you`re really looking for durability then you should look somewhere else besides a spray wax, even a good one like Aquawax.

Well, under the DG AW, I have multiple layers of Collinite (2-3 layers). I was just thinking of the best way to easily provide protection over the coming winter months without having to freeze my hands off applying Collinite with the PC.

If you have Collinite on it should last thru the winter. I too use AW over 845 but find that the waterbeads aren`t as tight as with just the 845 and don`t last as long. They start to flatten out over several weeks. So I use AW every second wash now. My wifes car which I just detailed I`m skipping the AW step just to see how long the 845 lasts.

Hm... That`s interesting. So you mean that the application of AW actually reduces the durability of the protection on the paint? From my experience, it seems like AW helps refresh the layers of Collinite wax I have underneath.

AW does not reduce durability, if anything it adds some. In my experience, AW mutes out the ultra-tight beading of Collinite, and it doesn`t really help the shine of Collinite any, IMO.

Once a month with AW should be plenty. Since you have Collinite on the paint , just wait until the gloss and beading becomes less, then use the AW to prolong the gloss and beading.

Sounds good. Thanks!
