Many people on this forum who have expertise in carpet cleaning recommend pre-treating with a Traffic Lane Cleaner to remove set in dirt/stains. I don`t have professional carpet cleaning background, but I do appreciate input from all on this forum and I learn a lot here.

Here are the results on some mats from a 2000 BMW 528i. The owner said the car had never been detailed, but it had been kept pretty clean by the owner.

The mats were very light in color so they showed every stain and looked grungier than they really were.

Process:

Vacuum thoroughly to remove loose dirt.

Apply Traffic Lane Cleaner with garden sprayer.

Scrub briefly with nylon brush (left/right and up/down).

Let sit 5-10 minutes.

Extract with hot water only, multiple passes to remove all residue.

Very simple, quick method which gives pretty good results:

I have tried to clean my wifes Sienna minivan carpet mats several different ways, including garden hose, and upholstery attachment from our household carpet cleaner etc. As a last resort, I put the mats in my front loading washer/dryer one at a time and they came out like factory new. I used a gentle wash and low heat dry.

Great job on the mats. I use the same process and for the really gross ones I rinse with the pressure washer then squeege with the handle of my Califorina blade then extract.
