Got a situation. I am looking for a degreaser that is safe for plastic / rubber that can be sprayed on (or wiped on) and wiped off w/o rinsing with water. It`s for a kart, so I don`t want to spray water everywhere (electronics, battery, bearings, etc.). I`ve seen the threads on the Meg`s Safe Degreaser as well as the P21 TAW, and those might work, but I am wondering if they can be wiped off vs. sprayed? Obviously, my concern is leaving something on there that will attract even more dust / dirt. Thoughts?

Wax and Adhesive Remover from 3M sounds to me as if it will work. I have sprayed it, though not for degreasing an entire auto engine compartment (would be very expensive).

It does not leave a residue, if wiped with a clean towel. It will remove some heavy messes quickly.

It is however, highly flamable. I would not use it on anything warm or hot, such as an engine.

What about Meguiars APC 10:1? Or regular 409?

kompressornsc and I have been discussing this via PMs. IMO anything APC-like will require rinsing, it`s just *gotta* leave residue behind unless it`s in an evaporative carrier agent.

That 3M Adhesive Remover is a great suggestion, PRB! I use that stuff for all kinds of things (have cans all over the house, garage, etc.). If you need a bulk product, I`d look into Wurth`s CleanSolv (or CleansAll or whatever they`re calling it these days). AutoInt`s New Car Prep is a good product along these lines too, but IMO it seems to leave a *tiny* bit of residue. Might be my imagination though :nixweiss

What about brake clean? Spray brake clean, clean with a brush , spray on more brake clean to rinse.
