I just bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee with factory alloy wheels and, being a `95, the wheels have some spots where the clear coat has failed and the metal corroded, is there any whay to fix this?

Only way to fix it is to strip it down, polish the metal and re-clear it.

Sure - bead blast or use a chemical stripper to remove all of the old clear.

Re-spray the silver wheel color if necessary.

Spray 2 coats of clear and bake.

A shop near me did a set of 4 16" wheels for me for $600.00 a few years ago. Not bad for the results I got.

For $600 couldn`t you just buy new rims? Probably not really great rims but probably something better than what comes on a stock Jeep.

This was for an Audi TT.

A car wash destroyed the finish on the wheels with some wheel acid.

That doesn`t really answer my question. Could you, or could you not, purchase rims (either new or used) for a 95 jeep cherokee for at or under $600
