I`ve read alot of people wanting to detail their car, Ive noticed this order



1- wash

2- dry

3- clay

4-seal

5-wax



I`m wondering why it seems to be no one detars they car. I always



wash

dry

detar

clay

detar (in case I missed anything)

poslih (if it needs it)

seal

wax

and so on



so is there any reason I shouldnt be detaring my car? or is it just that people like to use clay vs the detar?

De-tar? I get tar on my car only like once a year from road crews patching pot holes...then I just go at it with some Megs. body solvent or WD-40

I always remove the tar. I use Stoner Tarminator on bad sports and Poorboys Bug Squash on light tar. I pretreat the areas and then come back to them after the wash. I don`t like to use clay on tar unless it is a very small spot or residue leftover after you use the tar remover.
