I had my car in the sun today for the first time in a week or so and I noticed these lines in my hood. They appear to be lighter in color then the rest of the hood. They happen to be where I tried to get some light swirls out with my PC XMT2/LC Orange pad combo. You can see the lines right next to the hood scoops, on the left hand side of the scoops. Did I do something horribly wrong? Can it be fixed and how can I go about doing that? Thanks.

Could be burned clear? Or just that one part is all polished nice and the other is not. Looks like a blend mark that are famous on body shop repairs.

Buffer trail maybe?

Looks like a light halo left behind by a rotory polisher.

Car has never been touched by a body shop or a rotary.

Are you sure the dealership never buffed the paint out?

I`m slightly confused. Are the lines those white vertical things? I thought those were reflection of the clouds...

Yeah it`s hard to see the lines.

Might be hazing - the new water-based paints are butter soft and I`ve seen dual actions leave pretty severe marring on them with anything harsher than FPII and a black pad.

Ok thanks. I just wanted to make sure that I didn`t burn through my clear. I am going to see if some XMT 1 and a white pad to see if I can take care of it. I might get some OP on my next order and see if that is a little safer.
