Well here is what I did today since you people are sucking me in like a Black hole on detailing stuff! LOL.

Quick background: Detailing cars since early 1990’s and always look for better products. Started with the old-school Blue coral, butchers wax etc. Now thisâ€â€

Just did a quick 3.5-hour exterior detail.

1. Washed with Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine; 2 bucket method

2. Clayed (yellow; forgot brand bought from Pat at Excel) using Blue Mist Final wipe as Lube...love that stuff

3. Applied Jeff Werkstatt Prime Strong using the one and only Makita 9227C using LC white pad @ 1,100 rpms. Waited 30 minutes to remove by hand using MF towel. Easy as pie if you apply with the “3 drop method per panelâ€. Thanks to Scott waxJ

4. Applied Jeff Werkstatt Acrylic Jett with LC Blue pad @ 1,1000 RPMS on Makita. Again easy to remove if you do not apply to much

5. Used Chemical Guys Liquid Extreme Shine on lower plastic (under doors).

6. Used CG Grim Reaper on rims. Sucked compared to PB wheel cleaner.

7. Tires where cleaned with Optimum Tire shine. Equal to PB BnB and cheaper! Love it!

8. Rims sealed with PB EX-P.

9. Lastly used CG 5050 wax to add some pop. Can you tell?

So, cleaning wheel with CG GRIM REAPER - Heavy Duty Grease&Grime Remover. They say it can be used on filthy wheels. So far, it does not clean like PB wheel cleaner.

Going back in for Chemcial Guys 5050 wax (#134):

CG 5050 #1: Apply it like JE AJT and it goes on and off with ease.

http://img325.imageshack.us/img325/997/mikescar12172006039ah0.jpg

CG 5050 #2: I just take a MF pad and touch the 5050 wax once. Then rub panel down

and look for high spots.

All done with everything (and 5050 wax). Does it look any different??????I cannot tell. Will do another coat tomorrow; in garage all night

Hey Mike,

Great job on the detail, the car looks great! Next time I would suggest putting this under the Click and Brag section so more people can appreciate your work, Im sure a moderator will move it for you.

Nice write up along with pictures showing the progress...Thanks for sharing!

I agree and thanks for the comment! :)

I was trying to show some of the products and how they work; not really CNB but it could be. So far all are fine except for Cg grime... bad bad, I need to talk to Bob at Danse and get some PB BnB.

Feel free to move :) Just though it would go here since too many products tried so little time! LOL

Nice work there. Looks like you had a good time with some new stuff. Quick question: Is that a strand of hair in the can? (Top left.)

So to summarize;

1) Optimum Tire shine - LOVE IT! Cheaper then Poorboys Bold N Bright Tire Dressing and the same results.

2) Jeff Werkstatt - LOVE IT big time! Acrylic prime adds more shine then prime strong; BUT prime strong cleans more

3) Chemical Guys Liquid Extreme Shine - Another good one for rubber, plastic etc

4) CG Grim Reaper - sucked. I emailed CG to see what I am doing wrong. So far for cleaning rims (does nothing) get PoorBoys Spray & Rinse Wheel Cleaner; more $$ but worth the money since it works.

5) CG 5050 wax. Getting better now. Put another coat on today. Dark and more wet...:) YOu do not need much!

6) PoorBoys EX-P Sealantl - I do not like it for paint. Rims great; paint durabilty is poor.

7) Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine: Another hit

Ps. I got most items at Danase.com since he is the man.

Mike, nice documentation. Car looks great. I didn`t realize that Werkstatt could be applied via Makita. I`ll have to give that a try.

I`ve tried a lot of different tire dressings. I`ve had a lot of disappointments. This Optimum looks very nice after it "dries". I`m after a satin finish with no fling....it`s not easy to find. I thought the Stoner`s was going to be the answer. It hasn`t met my expectations as I found it sprayed all over the sides of my car after driving on the highway and it had been applied a week earlier!

I love using prime by with my makita and LC eurotech pads.

I noticed that normal AJ becomes like plastic when buffed in by machine whereas trigger just spread around and won`t break down, even with a MF bonnet.

So I mostly buff prime A and C then hand apply Jett`s

Great finish. I still like look of waxless more.

Well here are two more coats of 5050 wax with 24 hours cure time between coats. So the question is does 3 coats make it look wetter. I think so.

Very nice mate. Good review of the products too. :xyxthumbs

Have started using 50/50 myself recently and I really like it - so easy to use on and off, wipes off even easier than Souveran! Lovely finish too. :)
