I tried just water and it worked okay but I was told I could get much better results using a cleaning agent, so long as I run Mytee`s cleaner through after and make sure there isn`t anything left in the solution tank.

What chemicals should I use? Thanks in advance :up

While I could recommend several, this would work well Prochem Power Burst (http://www.jon-doninc.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=12508) Put it in a quart size sprayer and spray on the carpet. Scrub it a little bit . Extract with nothing but water

But it says "Not safe for stain resistant carpet"

Do you use this on auto carpeting?

Yes, it does say that, however automobile carpet and residential carpet are two different animals, Auto carpet is typically a blend of polyester, propolene and recycled materials. If you are not sure, give this a go. Prochem Ultrapac TLC (http://www.jon-doninc.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3224)
