I spent 4 hours today...just washing and drying...is that a pretty long time for a standard wash? I have a pretty unrelenting technique so that there is 0 chances for swirls. Oh yeah and at the end of the wash my jeans were drenched. What kind of clothes do you guys wear?

With an ONR wash and keeping on top of it now in the winter, washing/drying/applying a coat of AJT and tressing the tires takes me about 45 minutes.

As for clothes, I wear some old jeans or if they are nice try to just be careful. With ONR I dont seem to get as dirty/wet while washing. A traditional wash with a foamgun however...that is a different story :chuckle:

I can take up to 2 hours if I go all out on a basic wash, but rushing things, maybe 1:15 tops.

Don`t kid yourself bro. If I remember correctly it was just a week or three ago that you were asking every question under the sun.

Yeah I dont think so bud - Unless taking 4 hours to wash a car is your secret to inducing no swirls.

You guys know what I mean. I think I`m doing pretty good for only starting this a month or so ago. I would rather do something right than rush it, I just posted to see how long it takes most people.

I use to take forever. Now I can get a regular wash done in about 45 minutes. If the car is particularly dirty, or I need to super clean the wheels and tires, then that`ll probably end up being 1.25-1.5 hours. I hate putting on tire dressing without thoroughly cleaning the tires first, which means breaking out the EO wheel/tire cleaner. I only use that about a month (because I don`t want to have to reseal my wheels at every wash).

I just let the dressing die then do everything over. Its also so much more satisfying when you finally get it done that way too :D

I`m improving, though. I`m sure you will too.

You guys are nuts spending that much time just to wash your car. Takes me like 15-20 minutes to wash my truck and clean and dress the wheels and such. Around 40 minutes if i vaccuum and clean the windows and give it a quick wipe down.

On my personal truck..CK2500 w/topper...( 20 feet from bumper to bumper )...I am spending anywhere from 45 min to an hour. That includes pre-foam, two bucket wash plus refoaming each section. Sometimes I use Air Wand and other times I just useAir Wand on grill and window channels, etc and the rest WW with Griots WAUD.

Depends on the vehicle and the condition. On my car, 45 min *max*, and that includes dressing everything.

4 hours? What did you clean with, a toothbrush? 4 hours should be enough to dress all plastics/rubber and reapply an lsp!
