I was at Big Lots yesterday and purchased a bottle of Gunk Wheel Cleaner.

It was $2.50 for a 40 oz bottle. It is called "One Minute Wheel Cleaner" and

is in a black bottle. After thinking about my purchase, I am a little concerned

whether this product will harm my clear coat wheels. The directions do say

the product is for all wheel types. It also is an acidic product.

Anyone have knowledge of this product? What is your thoughts about it?

Thanks, Hokie

I avoid using ANY wheel cleaner unless its specifically needed to remove stuff that regular car wash soap won`t remove without a bit of elbow grease.

dont let it sit too too long and make sure you rinse well.

Additionally, be sure that the wheel isn`t hot.

Thanks for the replies. I did use the product yesterday. I have a German car and I

mainly sprayed the inside of the rim. My wheels are typcally clean enough to just use

soap and water. I was cautious about not letting the product stay on longer than a

minute and it seemed to do a good job of getting the brake dust off the inside of the rim.

I used the Meguiars wheel brush to clean the inside of the rim and the brush worked great.
