I have a new Lexus ES350. It`s color is Starfire Pearl (white with kind of a blue pearl look). I checked the car both in direct sun and under fluorescent lighting and couldn`t see any swirl marks of any kind.

So, I washed the car then gave it a good coat of Mag`s NXT liquid and then a week later a coat of Meg`s number 26. To me the car looks great but I still have the though in the back of my head that maybe it would have been even better if I had polished it first.

I know white isn`t going to have the look of darker cars but would it benefit from a polish job, even though I don`t have any swirls (new car)?

I don`t have a PC but plan on getting one for our other cars (which are all white but are eaten up with swirls).

Here are photos taken today:

The car sure does look good in those pics!

I don`t think it`s necessary to polish the car now. But if you get a PC you can practice on the other cars, and then come back and polish this in the spring. By then you will probably have picked up some slight swirls and marring.

The car could probably benefit from being clayed. Most new cars have contaminants in the paint. Try the plastic bag test.

You really shouldn`t need to polish a new car unless your correcting factory paint problems. The plastic bag test and possible claying is good advice - otherwise, just enjoy the new ride and do all you can to maintain it like it is today.

New cars, in my opinion deserve at a minimum, a paint cleaning...........Anytime you apply a sealant or wax, the paint should be at its most sterile level. For all you know, the dealer gave it a wash and applied some TW to it. My $.02.
