I was wondering if I need to clean the interior vinyl and plastic surfaces before applying 303 aerospace protectant? The description doesn`t say it has cleaning ability but I think I read somewhere that it does. Can you please clarify that for me?

Also, if the vinyl has a previously applied protectant that is too glossy for me, how do I remove it? Is applying 303 over it going to remove it for me so it leaves behind a matte finish? thanks!

I haven`t noticed any cleaning ability with the 303, it`s strictly a protectant.

I would recommend using another cleaner to prep the surface especially if you have previous used a shiney protectant underneath.

thanks for the reply!

What would be a good OTC cleaner? Can I use something like 409? :heelclick

Woolite and water 1:12 mixed into a small bucket. Drench your towel in the mix. Pull it out and wring it out. Rub down all plastics with this towel. Then follow with the 303 protectant.

I would not use 409.
