"If you are looking for gift ideas, I can use Quick Shine and the soap you use to wash a car using one gallon of water."

He will be 68 in less than a week and still takes care of his and my Mom`s cars. :)

Good for him. Hell, most 30 year olds are too lazy to take care of their car, much less someone who is 68! If only my parents could properly take care of their cars.

I think what is amazing is that he knows how to use email! My mom and dad can`t even figure it out haha :)

Reminds me of an elderly lady I saw for 2 days in a row `detailing` her car. She seemed somewhat frail and had to be close to 80. She was wiping down the hinges of her trunk! I almost wanted to drop off some QD and a bottle of wax :D

She was either a true Autopian, a little OCD, or really bored...or all of the above LOL..but that could apply to alot of us HAHAHA

Great thread Scott! I`m 62, work Mon-Fri in one job and detail 1-2 BMW`s per weekend for a reseller, plus keep my 2 family vehicles in shape.

I`m also diabetic and the doc likes the idea of me keeping active. He doesn`t want to see me as a couch potato as that has bad health effects.

My dad is 70 and still does physical work. I met an 88 year old who was racing motorcycles at Beaver Run. He said "at my age if you slow down you die"

how in the world can one possibly post over 18,000 times?

That`s 5 posts per day, every day, for 10 years.

Sorry, my bad, hijack over.

How does the above post have anything to do with this thread?

I`ve been here more than 5 years, so I am averaging a little less than 10 posts per day. I have 36,610 on another board I have been on more than 6 years...and I lost 12,000 or so posts there when they switched from UBB to VB boards. :nervous2:

There are people on that board knocking on 150,000 posts so their are bigger internet geeks than me. ;)

I`m not sure how one does that many posts. I know that I simply don`t have the time, and I don`t have that many intelligent things to say.

In Scottwax`s case, I must say that he has a ton of good things to say, and post. I`m sure that many of us here in this forum owe some of our Autopian abilities to Scott`s wealth of knowledge. I know that I do.

And, it is so cool that Dad is hanging in there, keeping it shiny. I completely believe in the motto, "When you don`t use it, you lose it."

So, thanks, Scott, and I will raise a glass right now to your Dad!
