Just a few details over the weekend—both were at the same location. I began doing work for this gentleman last year—what a great client. While we there he bought us pizza, continually asked if we needed anything, and was just an overall great host.

We were there to detail his supercharged Cobra, as well as his wife’s Highlander. The Cobra is a garage queen (<8K on the clock), but the Highlander sees “kid duty.” I detailed the Cobra last year about this time, with its limited use this was more of a maintenance detail, but the Highlander was a more involved detail.

Here is the Highlander before:

Just a little “writing” form the kids.

Here are the afters—for the engine I obviously couldn’t pressure wash the motor as it is a hybrid. I improvised and used an APC with my steamer to clean everything, then dressed with Meguiars hyperdressing.

For the interior we vacuumed thoroughly, steamed all surfaces, wiped everything down with APC, then followed with Meguiars interior QD—the carpets were cleaned with APC.

For the exterior the process was:

Wash with optimum wash (best wash I have used to date)

Polish with OP (new formula) via PC @speed 6, I misted the pad with OCW, then removed the residue with OCW.

Sealed with poli-seal

OCW on all surfaces

tires wear Meguiars endurance (original formula) with a final wipe of hyperdressing

We used the exact same procedure for the Mustang, though it didn’t need clay.

Full shot of the Mustang—it’s for sale the BTW. If any of you guys are looking for a mint SC’ed Cobra with <8K on the clock, let me know. I think he wants around 20K for the car.

[Insert usual compliments regarding ebpcivicsi`s work here..]

Nice to hear the client is such a good guy.

How`s the paint on the Highlander- hard/soft? (One of those might make a nice beater-Blazer replacement come spring ;) ).

Right in the middle--I thought that it was going to be *really* soft, but it was nice to work with. *Very* easy to correct, but not so soft that marring would/could occur when removing product. My Mom has one (not a hybrid), it is a little softer--not usre if they are produced in different plants?

They are really cool(the hybrids), though it takes some getting use to when you are just sitting there and the motor turns off. :D

Both look very nice, excellent clean up on the highlander interior. Thoughts on the Poli-Seal?

Thanks man--the only thing that I comment on right now is ease of use and look. The product basically buffs itself off as you are applying it--strange to hear, but something you would just have to experience. What`s left can be wiped away wipe *zero* effort. I applied it with a foam applicator, which was moistened with OCW--removed with MF. I love the look and application of the product--the cleaners seem very mild to me. I also used it on the molding and mirror housings on the Cobra, cleaned them up great and left them looking like new (just like AIO would). So far, so good.

The wash is absolutely amazing though.

Hmm, I might have to try out the Optimum wash. I use TOL Bubble Bath right now, and am not wild about it at all. I know just what you mean when you say the product basically dissapears into the paint-for me, JW Prime done with a PC does the *exact* same thing

I was struck with that similarity when I first used Poli-Seal.

Soft rubber trim too(window moldings)? or Just the hard grainy trim?

What did you use to clean your wheels?

Yep, window as well as the grainy mirror housings--worked great!

Kenny, your PM box is full--I use it on all interior surfaces including the buttons, though I clean them first with APC/steam.

Thanks guys!!

Kikkomann, the Mustang was cleaned with car wash soap, the Highlander`s were cleaned with acid, then alkaline degreaser 10:1, and finally car wash soap.
