I have noticed that 3M is agressively bring their products onto the retail shelves at Zeller`s(Like a Canadian K-Mart/Walmart). It does not look like they will stand a chance against all the glitzy packaging of the other brands, but their price is well below other brands so it might work. I noticed they had a Liquid Show Car Wax, Gloss Enchancer, Tire Dressing and Leather Conditioner and a whole sleuth of sponges, MFs. I would have picked up their paste Show Car Wax, but they didn`t have any :(

How does these products perform ?

Anyone seen this ?

Well their stuff has always been available at automotive parts stores in the states but when I was in Toronto a few weeks back I didn`t see any 3M stuff at Canadian Tire.

I actually have the bottle of wax pictured (from back in the day before I was an Autopian :) ). I`ve been using it as a winter wax although I may try the paste this year.

There`s no way someone not in the know is going to choose a product with that packaging over something like say Turtle Wax Ice or NXT

Y? I admit 3m isn`t big on flashy packaging. But one has to also remember they as a company aren`t geared towards retail but more professional. They should put the retail stuff in another packaging. Something with a little more panash.

Because packaging has appeal on the general consumer, as made evident by just about every single product on any shelf. Someone that doesn`t know brand names and their reputations is going to choose what immediately appeals to them.

Actually the new label is more ugly than the one posted, I thought it was a no name brand till I looked closer, its the same product number 39026 though, but I was surprised with the price of $7.29CAD which was even cheaper than NuFinish at $8.99CAD. It looked creamy white and there were white stains on the black cap, so I guess it would stains black trims ...does it ?

3M dosent have a chance. I think that it will sell, but not as much as NXT or ICE.

As a consumer product, I would think that the flashy packaging would get some customers.

Car Quest sells 3M here in North Carolina - along with some Megs Mirror Glaze and the DuraGloss line.
